The vegans and lactose intolerant can find salvation at Stogo. They deliver us dairy-free, organic ice cream with no refined sugars, animal products, gluten, preservatives or artificial flavorings. To boot, they promise the containers and utensils are sustainable and biodegradable.
They have 14 coconut milk-base ice creams, 4 hemp-based, 18 soy-based, and 4 sorbets. They're on a rotation and some of them are seasonal, but all of their flavors are awesome, so any time you go, you're going to be happy about the options.
I came here the night I did because I needed a dessert fit to finish off my Luke's Lobster dinner, and I found it in the form of this three scoop ice cream magnificence:
I think this is the best dairy-free ice cream I've ever had. I can't wait to try the coconut milk ones, considering those are always better than the soy ones. The coffee was smooth, roasted coffee deliciousness. I could've used a tiny bit more salt, but still, the Salted Caramel Pecan was just wonderful. The mexican chocolate was nice, not too spicy, more present throughout the flavors than some. I enjoyed it, but I'm also pretty over the spicy chocolate thing, having had plenty of it in the past year or so. These were all also really fun to eat in bites of each combination together, including all three together.
The ice cream here is just so fucking creamy and good. If anyone still needs to convert a dairy eater to the idea that vegan ice cream can be magical, this is a sure bet. If you didn't tell them it's vegan, they probably wouldn't even realize. Not that it tastes quite like cow, but it's so good they'd be too busy delighting in each bite to worry about what it's made of.
