I had the opportunity to use someone else's money to pay for a meal and drinks at America's Oldest Restaurant (est. 1826), the Union Oyster House, so off I went. This is a review from half a year ago, so I will provide only my notes, meager as they were, which nonetheless tell the whole story.

1/2 dozen Wellfleet Oysters - $14.95Expensive. Not bad, not amazing. Had a Beefeater Martini with them - $8.25 |
Clam Chowder - $7.95 No better than Legal Seafoods' meh clam chowder |
Salmon Special - $28.95 Who would pay their own $28.95 for some salmon, mashed potatoes and asparagus? You could get a better version of this for less than half the price at a freakin' TGIFridays. |
Broiled Seafood Platter - $27.95 Broiled = sucks. Since the whole point of broiled food is to make it lighter, why would they bread these things before broiling them? Ugh, so bland, what a waste. |
